LOVE LOVE LOVE

So...I said I wouldn't be back until the weekend....I'm sorry I lied.. There's just soo much love in the atmosphere that I could not help but share it...

Well you can probably tell that this post has absolutely nothing to do with the wonderful world of ART or POETRY... but I will try to be as artistic and poetic as possible.

Today is Valentine's Day and I hope that everybody had a day filled with love and if you did not we would just like to say Happy Valentine's Day to everybody from us here at Rare Art Arena with Poetry Literature and Everything else.

I'm not going to write about how the entire Valentine's Day thing came about but you can find some information here. However, I am going to share a LOVEly video :-) . This is one of my favorite songs any day of the year and if you ask me I think its rather poetic. Don't You?

Anyway I'm off to get some work done now. I really won't be back until weekend :-D
Cheers! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello everyone...

Just stopping by to share a quick post before I get to preparing for the new week ahead. Today, I decided to take a little look at abstract art. Abstract art can be described as a visual composition which can exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the world. I personally like the sense of mystery and thought that abstractness provokes, not only in visual arts but in writing as well. However, I have not committed my time to painting abstract pieces. Because of my undying love for nature, I have only done a few abstracts, one of which can be seen in my gallery.

As I was doing my search, I stumbled across a very nice website all about abstract art- paintings.name. This includes artists of abstract art as well as a historical timeline of abstract art. I do hope you enjoy.

Well, I'm off for now, most probably until the weekend. I trust that everybody will have a great week.

Cheers!!

Back At It!

♪Guess who's back? Back again? Well we're back so tell a friend♫

Hey Guys...

It's been forever since we've posted here. It's amazing how I started this blog because I had a lot of free time on my hands now have no time to blog because I've got a lot to do. Well... I really like blogging and don't wanna give it up so I'm back at it again. Let me just say now a very very happy and prosperous new year to all of you guys and I hope it has already begun on a good note :-).

As for me, nothing has changed here I'm still ever so curious about everything life has to offer and ever so excited about sharing my findings with you.... Hopefully I'll hae a year full of learning and you will too ;-).

Well, before I leave I would just like to share a story which my chemistry lecturer told on the first day of class this semester. It really had me thinking of what kind of person I was and how it is I can live a better life. It's never too late...(or too early) to change.. I hope that you enjoy this story....

How Do You Handle Adversity?
A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life, and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it, and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved a new one arose.

Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water. In the first pot, she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs and the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil without saying a word. In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me what do you see?" "Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied. She brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they got soft. She then asked her to take the egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg. Finally, she asked her to smell and sip the coffee. The daughter smiled, as she smelled and tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, "What's the point, mother?"

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity- boiling water-but each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior. But, after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water they had changed the water. "Which are you?" she asked her daughter. "When trials and adversity knock on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?"

Think of this: Which am I?

Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity, do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength? Am I the egg that starts with a passive heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside, am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and a hardened heart?

Or, am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you become better and change the situation around you. When the hours are the darkest and trials are their greatest do you elevate to another level?
